One Step Forward with Borer Physical Access Control System and Time Attendance at Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium.
UK Athletics new national headquarters has been fitted with Borer’s unique Access Control and Time Attendance system.
Borer’s secure Power over Ethernet Plus Access Control System uses a single Midspan Bridge device to deliver both power and data over CAT5e/5 cable up to 8 card readers. By eliminating the requirement for local power supplies at each door, Borer’s access control system is easier and faster to install with less amount of infrastructure to deploy, resulting in lifetime energy and costs savings.
Alexander Stadium is one of the UK’s top athletics stadiums and has been a host to several major sporting events. It was orginally built in 1975 and was open for training the following year.
Alexander Stadium has recently undergone a £12.5 million expansion and refurbishment, including the building of a 5,000 seater stand opposite the current main stand which has taken the stadium capacity to 12,700. The stand was completed in June 2011, in time to host the Diamond League British Grand Prix in July 2011 and is rightfully regarded as a world class athletics venue and the new national HQ for UK Athletics.
Birchfield Harriers Athletics Club is based at the Alexander Stadium and are aiming to send up to twelve athletes to the home games for Olympics, London, 2012.
